Your Vantage Point @ 1:46 AM
I see myself from Your side.
I'm shocked at the sight of me.
Got to wonder how the zealousness turned to hypocrisy.
The cookie-cutter motions
Ran their duty round the clock.
'Till I had no time to notice
The focus they now block.
I see myself from Your side.
You shouted "stop" along the way.
You prodded, cried, and pleaded.
Nay a grimace, turned I away.
I told you daily that I loved you;
That I'd give my life for yours.
Easier to say the words
then kick the habits out the door.
I see myself from Your side.
how my words still exit hollow; fake.
Events may age me; wrinkles deepen
still, I make the same mistakes.
Yet I stand amidst this mercy
with grace for me to take.
Your love welcomes home this creation.
Yes, your vantage point I must make
...mine daily.
